1. Drug-Induced Nutrient Depletions
This is Dr. Ross Pelton’s most popular speaking topic at medical and/or health conferences. Ross is the world’s leading authority on drug-induced nutrient depletions. He has written two books on this topic. One is the definitive reference book for physicians, pharmacists and other health professionals titled The Drug-Induced Nutrient Depletion Handbook (Lexi-Comp, 2001). The second book, which is written for the general public, is titled The Nutritional Cost of Drugs (Morton Publishing, 2004).

Most commonly prescribed prescription drugs deplete nutrients from people’s body, which often causes or contributes to additional health problems. This presentation reviews the major classes of drugs that deplete nutrients, the specific nutrients that are depleted by these drugs, the health problems associated with these nutrient depletions, and how to prevent and/or correct these problems. (1 or 2-hour presentation)
2. How To Get Off Anti-Depressant and Anti-Anxiety Drugs
Many people who start taking these drugs find that they can not discontinue them. Hence, for many people anti-depressant and anti-anxiety drugs are addictive.

Anti-depressant and anti-anxiety drugs cause significant changes in brain biochemistry and the actual physical structure of the brain. Some reports indicate that these drugs cause the destruction/disappearance of neurotransmitter receptors in the brain, which might actually be considered a type of brain damage. Also, the side effects from these drugs are far more serious and far more frequent than are commonly reported. It has been reported that sexual side effects (loss of libido and inability to achieve orgasm) affect from 57.7% to 72.7% of people depending which medication is being used.

This is not an easy process, and it takes time. However following the correct protocol enables many people to successfully discontinue anti-depressant and anti-anxiety medications. It is best to engage the help of a knowledgeable health professional to guide, coach, educate, and support an individual with the withdrawal process.
